Getting REAL: Love Plus Courage Equals a Healing Home

Maintaining a healing home is a natural balancing act, the marriage of spiritual and material realms. It isn’t just about meandering around with singing bowls and incense. It isn’t about burying our heads in the sand (or the clouds). It’s more about staying rooted in the home and developing it into a true healing space for all inhabitants.

At this time, February 2024, “world events” are not friendly toward most of us humans, and the home is our hedge against this. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not about living in fear. It’s about avoiding unnecessary problems by ensuring safety and security by way of preparedness. This would be known as “exercising the challenge response,” which develops courage and makes us stronger as naturally protective homemakers. It generates personal growth through working within a mild state of stress in order to ride the turbulence of life while deflecting potentials for greater stressors. “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” We prepare the home so we can rest assured that we have done all that we can to protect our families, keep them solidly cohesive, and ensure that they are strong and healthy.

We cover this tangible aspect of the basics (safety and security), and then we marry it with the spiritual by blessing our home with the healing properties of love, blessing our food, blessing applicable archetypal figures and inviting the sacred to flourish through the material. This is the harmonious cohesion of love and courage, and it is the most necessary form of balance that a homemaker can embody.

This is why we keep a safe and secure home: so our loved ones (and we) can rest at night knowing that if or when crises occur, we are prepared to rise to the challenge. Further on that note, we should be able to sleep soundly, which is necessary for good health.

Sweet dreams of healing homes.
